How Remote Online Notarization Works
1. Book Your Appointment
Choose a convenient appointment time using our online booking calendar. RON appointments are available 24/7, subject to availability.
2. Prepare Your Document & Identification
Have your document ready along with acceptable identification. Do not sign the document beforehand if your signature needs to be witnessed by the notary.
3. Complete Identity Verification
Before the notarization, you may be required to complete identity-verification procedures through the approved remote notarization platform.
4. Meet With Your Notary Online
Connect through the approved remote online notarization platform using a compatible device with internet access, a camera, and a microphone.
5. Complete Your Notarization
Once all legal and identity requirements are satisfied, the eligible document can be electronically notarized.
What You’ll Need
Before your appointment, please have:
• A compatible computer, tablet, or mobile device with a camera and microphone
• A reliable internet connection
• Acceptable identification for identity verification
• Your document available in an electronic format accepted by the remote notarization platform
• Access to your email during the appointment
• Any additional signer or witness required for your document
Please do not sign your document before your appointment if your signature must be witnessed by the notary.
Is My Document Eligible?
Many documents may be eligible for Remote Online Notarization, but eligibility depends on the document, the requested notarial act, the signer, and applicable law.
Some documents, receiving agencies, lenders, title companies, courts, or other organizations may have specific requirements regarding electronic or remote notarization.
